Children’s dentists

Pediatric dentistry is a special area: a large part of the success in treatment is the ability to establish contact with the child.

That is why we pay serious attention not only to the high professional qualities of a pediatric dentist, but also to the doctor’s love for children, the ability to find a common language. We understand the importance of preserving milk teeth until their natural replacement and we have all the latest techniques in the treatment of milk teeth.

Doctors not found.

Unfortunately, not everyone understands the importance of treating milk teeth – not only among parents, but even among doctors. And the fact that a child can also have severe toothache, teeth also have nerves, and the fact that the premature loss of temporary teeth leads to problems with the growth of permanent ones.

What Do Pediatric Dentists Do?

Pediatric dentists are universal doctors: they can perform not only therapeutic manipulations, but also simple removals and crowns. Perhaps the only thing they don’t do is orthodontic treatment: that’s what orthodontists do.

Main activities:

  1. Treatment of caries. Usually, it develops very quickly, therefore, prof. examinations should be done every 3-4 months.
  2. Treatment of pulpitis. Contrary to popular belief, milk teeth also have nerves, and when caries develops, it develops into pulpitis.
  3. Installation of crowns. In case of severe tooth decay metal crowns are installed.
  4. Removal of milk teeth. If the extraction can be avoided (and the permanent tooth has not yet erupted), the tooth is better treated.

When to See a Pediatric Dentist

For prevention, the frequency of visits should be higher than in adults: once every 3-4 months. In addition, it is useful to simply bring the child to the clinic to meet the doctor: in this way, he ceases to be afraid. But patients often seek help because of:

  1. Darkening of the enamel. Most often, this indicates the presence of caries, but only a doctor can determine whether this is so.
  2. Pain.
  3. Trauma. Children are quite active and can break or dislocate both temporary and permanent teeth.
  4. Improper growth of teeth. In this case, the child is sent to the orthodontist.

Timely help will help maintain healthy teeth for many years.

How is a pediatric dentist appointment

First, the doctor gets to know the child. It is good if the acquaintance does not take place when there is already an urgent need for treatment on the first visit.

Further diagnostics is carried out, if necessary, an x-ray is taken.

The doctor, if necessary, makes anesthesia and performs treatment.
